This article explains the layout of your Appropriate Websites dashboard and where to find everything you need to manage your website.
The Dashboard Overview Page
When you log in you will land on the dashboard overview page. At the top of the page you will see a welcome message with your account name. Below that you will see two sections; Quick Actions and My Recent Activity.
Quick Actions gives you shortcuts to the most common tasks you will do inside your dashboard. From here you can add a new page, add a widget, create a new form, and manage your site navigation menus.
My Recent Activity shows a log of the recent actions you have taken inside the platform so you can keep track of changes made to your website.
The Left Hand Menu
The left hand menu runs down the left side of every page inside your dashboard. Here is what each section does.
Setup is a one-time checklist that guides you through configuring your website for the first time. It covers your site identity, cookies, links, scripts, and structured data. This only needs to be completed once.
Dashboard takes you back to the overview page from anywhere inside the panel.
Insights is where you can view your website performance and activity data.
Pages is where you manage and edit all the pages on your website including your home page, service pages, about page, and contact page.
Blog is where you create and manage blog posts on your website.
Forms is where you create and manage the forms on your website including your contact and enquiry forms.
Workflows is where you set up automated actions that are triggered when a customer submits a form or takes an action on your website.
Site Management is where you manage your website settings including your site identity, navigation menus, and site configuration.
Team Management is where you add and manage team members who have access to your dashboard.
Website Management is where you manage your active website subscription.
Billing opens your billing page where you can view your invoices and manage your payment details.
Knowledge Base opens the Appropriate Websites knowledge base where you can find help articles including this one.
The Top Navigation Bar
The top navigation bar runs across the top of every page inside your dashboard. On the left side you will find the back arrow and the Appropriate Websites Studio logo. In the centre there is a search bar you can use to quickly find anything inside your dashboard by pressing Ctrl and K on your keyboard. On the right side you will find the View button which opens your live website in a new tab, a screen preview icon, a Switch To option, a notifications bell, and your profile icon.
Clicking your profile icon in the top right corner gives you access to your account settings and the option to log out.
The Workspace Switcher
In the top left corner of the left hand menu you will see your workspace name with a switch icon next to it. If you manage more than one website account you can use this to switch between different website without logging out.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What does the View button do?
A: The View button in the top navigation bar opens your live website in a new browser tab so you can see exactly how it looks to your customers.
Q2: Does the Setup checklist need to be completed by every team member?
No. The Setup checklist only needs to be completed once for your website. It does not need to be repeated by each team member who has access to the dashboard.
I cannot find a section I am looking for. What do I do?
Use the search bar at the top of the dashboard by pressing Ctrl and K on your keyboard and typing what you are looking for. If you still cannot find it contact support at [email protected].
